The offset boring head is available in a variety of models and sizes however the basic function is the same. It has a dove tail slide that is adjustable with a micrometer screw. This slide moves off center thus moving the boring tool off center.

On the left is a typical boring bar set for the offset head. All shafts are precision ground to fit the boring head. This set - as in most - uses brazed carbide cutting tips. Note the various lengths and body diameters | ||||||||||||||
